Hi! I’m Cecilia Petit, MA, LADC
She | Her | Hers
Hi, I’m Cecilia. I recently earned a Masters Degree in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota. I am working toward licensure in Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) under the supervision of Dr. Amy Fish, PhD, LP.
Previously, I have experience in counseling under my license for alcohol and drug counseling and have worked in sexual violence, prevention and crisis.
My favorite part of this work
My favorite part of this work is the process of building relationships together that create and reveal portals to new possibilities. It is an honor to witness and hold the stories of the people I work with. My hope is that through our relationship we can learn to use those stories and truths to build toward a meaningful life guided by purpose and care.
Speaking of my clients
In particular, I specialize in working with individuals, who:
Intimate Partner Violence
Sexual Violence
Intergenerational Trauma
Gender-Based Violence
Mixed race identity and Indigenous identity
Substance Use Disorder concerns
I have a special interest in:
Storytelling as a healing methodology
Indigenous healing knowledges
I am passionate about:
Finding purpose and belonging
Community wellness
Collective healing
Psychological liberation for marginalized peoples
“It is an honor to witness and hold the stories of the people I work with.”
On Personal Note
I come from a long line of strong Indigenous and mixed-race women. I bring my experience of standing between worlds into my work specifically in how I conceptualize navigating power, identity, and a sense of community and belonging. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest but have fallen in love with the lakes and stark beauty of Mni Sota Makoce.
In my spare time, I practice and teach yoga, explore playgrounds with my daughter, work on beadwork with my sisters, and spend time cooking and visiting with my family and friends.
