I’m so happy to introduce myself to you!
Hi! I’m Tina D. Shah, PsyD, LP.
She | Her | Hers
What do those letters behind my name mean?! PsyD stands for Doctor of Psychology, which I earned in 2007 from the Minnesota School of Psychology. The LP stands for Licensed Psychologist and I’ve been licensed by the Minnesota Board of Psychology since 2008.
My favorite part of this work
My favorite thing about this work is my relationships with my clients! I have experience with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, as well as working with their families. I’m constantly amazed by the relationships we have formed and inspired by the transformative changes my clients experience during our work together. As a result, this has helped my clients to be more present in their lives, as well as help them build the life they want and truly deserve.
MY JOURNEY
I’ve had quite a number of professional experiences, some of which I’ve highlighted below. After spending years in a local community mental health setting and group practice in leadership positions, I decided to start Collaboration for Psychological Wellness, LLC in order to continue to serve the needs of the community, expand access and reduce barriers to services, and increase my direct work with clients, as well as provide an inclusive practice for other clinicians to do their best work! I'm grateful to honor the entrepreneurial, compassionate, and collaborative spirit that has been a part of my family for generations!
Speaking of my clients
In particular, I specialize in working with individuals, who:
Are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, excessive worry, overthinking, sadness, irritability, and frustration.
Are high achieving and motivated, yet tend to feel unfulfilled and overwhelmed in their lives.
Have experienced difficult things in their lives, including adjustments to life transitions, changes, loss, as well as those that have experienced traumatic and stressful experiences.
I have a special interest in:
Maternal mental health, parenting difficulties, and working with women.
Working with other mental health and health professionals on their personal psychological wellness journey, particularly those who may be experiencing compassion fatigue.
I am passionate about:
Working with individuals who are identified as BIPOC and/or have diverse backgrounds, particularly first and second-generation immigrants.
Supporting clients in feeling empowered, finding their voice and community, helping them engage in self-discovery, as well as navigating, exploring and celebrating their cultural identity.
On Personal Note
I’m a first generation American female of South Asian (Indian) descent, who was raised in the suburbs of the Twin Cities, which helps me understand the unique experiences and needs of my clients who have immigrant, diverse, and BIPOC backgrounds. I love traveling the globe and have a never ending bucket list of places to travel. I am also quite content being cozy at home spending time with my loved ones. I also enjoy laughing, practicing mindfulness and yoga, cooking, as well as exploring new restaurants/foods.
